Webinar: Automating Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) with Robotics

Overview

AC&E is hosting a free webinar to focus on the effective use of NDI in the manufacturing process. We’ll focus on using simulation tools to streamline the planning and inspection cycle. The instructor will present methods for setting up effective workcells and determining the coverage process for maximum defect detection.

Background

Manufacturing processes for composites are complex and likely could result in defects due to errors in layup and bonding. The use of inspection devices to determine these defects is on the rise and likely to continue growing. However, users typically do not follow a standard inspection path or maintain strict coverage verification. Most inspection devices are hand held units and rely on the operator to adequately cover the part surface.

Through the use of simulation tools and advanced robotics, AC&E has been able to create a highly automated, accurate process that significantly reduces the inspection cycle time.

What you'll learn

  • Techniques for inspection workcell design

  • 3 ways to leverage scanning technologies for damage detection

  • How to integrate robotically controlled NDI into your manufacturing process

  • How to simulate the process before making costly hardware mistakes

  • Learn how to leverage modeling and simulation to reduce errors.

This webinar is intended for manufacturing planners, quality inspection, and managers who are seeking more impoved methods for inspection.
